Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is the American professional in basketball for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. The basketball team she played for was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to being selected by the Wings with the fifth overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was a Milwaukee Wisconsin native born to Yolanda Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) and Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her brothers older than her. Her parents were spoiling her the most because she was the youngest. Her father Gregory was posted to the Nigerian Army for quite some period of time. Ogunbowale's family has an active family background. Her brother Dare is a player in the NFL and her mother Yolanda was a softball player at DePaul. The cousin of her Endia Ollie plays Volleyball in the team of Tennessee State. Her name was included in the honor roll at her high school three years in a row. She has also won various awards and received notoriety and praise from her high school career. Arike has graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her hometown. Her high school playing career complete with 73 wins 1 477 career points as well as 739 lifetime rebounds. Ogunbowale was a participant for the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. In July 7, 2014, she was selected for the 2014 USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team following her debut year as a collegiate player. Kobe Bryant even thanked her for hitting a number of big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Ogunbowale despite being a relative newcomer to basketball, is already establishing herself as an international star. She's sure to keep her status in the game.
