Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as a news reporter and anchor at WPDE-TV. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor and crime report at WCBD TV. In Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to states authorities again releasing a more stringent directive regarding the cases. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. Then she joined Access Hollywood to work as the weekend and weekday correspondent. Additionally, she is an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today. She has reported on occasions like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards in addition to hosting the Pre ShowArrivals shows at The Emmys. Her other co-hosting credits include Miss USA, the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
