Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor on WCBD TV and acted as the crime reporter. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. This investigation led to a more strict instruction for the state's authorities. Ms. O'Dell was honored by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. O'Dell later worked at NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter prior to joining Access Hollywood in the role as a weekend anchor. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She hosted both The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
